Edwin Blackburn

Northumberland artist Edwin Blackburn is the son of a riveter who worked in the local shipyards. His father was a keen amateur painter and photographer who encouraged Edwin’s early drawing talent as a child. His native Northumberland gave him great inspiration and immediate access to endless subject matter.

Linda’s career started through a love of textiles; with her creating exclusive, luxury carpet designs for hotels, ships, leisure facilities and individuals. This creative love of design saw her go on to work on greeting cards, wrapping paper and stationery for the likes of Hallmark, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer and WH Smith.

Malcolm draws his inspiration from the North East due to its unmistakeable character and its features that have been defined and formed by its industrial roots. It was this industrial nature that fascinated him as his forefathers and following generations were in the lead and coal mining industry on the Aston Moor and Tynedale.
