It can only be approached from the east over the Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course, or from Newton by the Sea to the north. That relative isolation means that, even on the warmest Summer days, it is never overcrowded!
Secondly, the fantastic vista of Dunstanburgh Castle to the south gives it a special charm, only, perhaps, equalled by the views of Bamburgh Castle from its own beaches further north.
